Strength and Hope #2

How many of you watched the wedding then?   I did and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the happy couple.   Now because of the wedding I haven't done any crafting yet today but I did make this card a few days ago.   Its another one using the Strength  and Hope set and is quite simple but effective I think.

All products, except the base card, are from stamping up and the colour scheme is Rose Red and Basic Black.
Products used:
Rose red card and ink
Whisper White card
Basic Black card and ink
Pearls
White gel pen
Round plain and scalloped punch

Thanks for popping by and enjoy the rest of your day

Strength and Hope

As you will know from a previous post, SU are donating £1 to cancer research from every Strength and Hope set sold.  Now this does not just apply to the sets sold in the UK  but to those sold in America, Australia, Germany and France as well.  Wow can you image how much they could be donating and I'm sure you will agree that its a worthy cause as I don't think there are many of us that haven't experienced cancer within our families or friends.

Anyway, my upliner Victoria is holding a charity night in May to promote the set and hopefully manage to sell some to benefit the research.  It is always good to have lots of samples to show the versatility of the set so I've been making some that she will hopefully want to borrow for the event.   For the first one I wanted to do something different and so decided to make a penny spinner card.  I've made these before but not for a long time and was really pleased with the result.

Now the picture was taken before I decided I would put pearls down the centre of the butterfly to bling it up so you will have to use your imagination for this one...sry.

All products are SU, except the pennies,  and the colour combo is Rose Red and Crumb Cake,  the paper is from Springtime Vintage that is currently in the mini catalogue.  The background on the top of the card is from the set and stamped in Crumb Cake onto the same colour card stock for a more subtle effect.

If you would like to order this set and do a bit for cancer research please contact me and I'll be happy to order it for you.

Thanks again for stopping by, I'll be back again soon with another project from this set.

Elegant boquet

Hi there,

Hope you are all enjoying the Easter break.  Its been a bit overcast today but still warm and dry so can't complain as got lots of washing done.

Earlier today I got a text off my eldest asking if I had any "elegant" cards that her fiancee could give to his nan.  I asked her when she wanted it by, thinking it would be a day or so, but no she wanted it later today.   Now everyones idea of elegant is different so I decided to do a new creation and then let her look through what I already had as well. This is what I came up with:

I've used all SU products which include the big shot. top note bigz dies, elegant bouquet embossing folder, butterflies emobosslit, four frames stamp set, decorative label and the corner punch, pear pizzaz ribbon, pearls, oval all sentiments, rose red and very vanilla c/s, springtime vintage papers and rose red marker.

They both liked it so I hope Nan does too :-)

Thanks for looking

Manhattan Flower

I'm just loving the weather we are having at the moment, I think it makes everyone so much happier and relaxed.  Having said that I've not been out in it much today as I went to see my mum and typical, got down there and she was out shopping with my sister.  Luckily they were nearly done so I let myself in with my keys and had a coffee waiting for them when they got home.   Then sis dropped me off at the hospital for a blood test, waited 30 and was out in 2 once they called my number...lol  Obviously I'm now home and the washing on the line and the HW is done so its now ME time :)

So what have I got for you today!!  Well I'm not sure if I've mentioned this or not but my eldest got engaged last week so I thought it only right that I made her a card, seeing as thats my hobby.  I didn't want a traditional one so on Tuesday night I set about using the Manhattan Flower embossing folder that is exclusive to SU.  I've used the in colours for the card, Concord Crush and Pear Pizzaz and, because SU don't do Pear Pizzaz in satin ribbon, I used Old Olive instead, just goes to show how you can mix and match SU products easily doesn't it?  I've also used the Four Frames stamp set and coordinating punch plus the Basic Phrases set, matching inks to the cardstock and pearls to finish it off.

I haven't given it to her yet so will let you know if she likes it or not.

Have a good day and thanks for stopping by.

Strength and Hope

Hello everyone,

Oh I am soooo happy, I've broke up for 5 days...yay. Quick one from me as its rather late and near my bedtime...lol So my plans for my days off are I'm hoping to get some crafting done and prep my class for the end of May, do some work on my diploma as well as the general housework.  If you are interested in my classes just get in contact to reserve your place.

Ok, remember I attended a training session a couple of weeks ago?  Well I had to do some swaps and, as SU are supporting breast cancer research this year I thought it would be good to have some aspect of the Strength and Hope set on the card.  For every stamp set sold, SU are donating one pound to cancer research.  The criteria for the swaps was to use products from the mini catalogue.  So what I did was I used the elegant boquet embossing folder and embossed some whisper white card.  I then either chalked over the embossed image or glittered them as I wanted to show that this folder could be used for either bright or subtle colours.  I then stamped the Hope symbol from the set in the top right corner.

I must admit that the chalked ones are my fav :) What do you think?

Ok thats it from me, told you it was a quick one.  I'll be back soon with a card I've done for my daughters engagement so please pop back to have a look.  Til then ttfn

Scrapbook class

Yet another glorious Sunday morning.  I can't believe its a week since I last posted, where does the time go?  Well I've been busy at work and home and yesterday had my wonderful family and friends round for a morning of crafting.  This month we concentrated on 2 scrapbook pages.  It was a little hectic as I was getting the ladies to use the Big Shot out of the mini catalogue but it was also great fun.   Mind you it didn't help that I had my scatty and clumsy head on yesterday, what wasn't nailed down got either dropped, knocked over or spilt, till they survived the morning....lol

Anyway here is my effort which gave the ladies a template to work from, although I must say they came up with some lovely layouts themselves and I forgot to take pics of them, see I told you I was scatty.

These pages feature my two gorgeous daughters both celebrating their 18th birthdays,  Nicola, on the right with the "headscarf", is the eldest and who is going to make me a nan in about 3 months....gulp.  Everything is SU and I hope you can see that we have used quite a few products from the mini catty  These are the top note die, scallop envelope die, embosslits beautiful wings die and the elegant bouquet embossing folder.
I'm hoping to get some crafting done today but the ironing is calling my name and, when hubby gets home from work, we're nipping to a garden centre as he wants some more plants for the garden.  I can't say no really as he supports my hobby so its only right I do the same for him, its only a pity his can't be delivered to the house like mine is...haha

Anyway bye bye for now and I'll be back later to share some more projects with you.  Til then take care.

More cards from training

What a gloriouse day better make the most of it as they say its going to change in the week.   We are having a BBQ later this afternoon and Nikki and Lee are coming over to join us.  Nikki usually eats us out of house and home,  I know she's eating for 2 but, tbh, I think its more like 3...lol. Still better that than not eating enough.   We brought the baby one of those rocker chairs the other day that vibrates to sooth it, little did we know it was on her wish list so a good choice made I think.

As you may have already read I went to Jules training yesterday and we made lots of lovely cards and a scrapbook page.  I've already shown you 3 of the cards we made now here are the other 2.

I think you will agree they are all stunning cards and show off the versitility of SU products.  All SU products are available to order through me should you wish to purchase any, just drop me a e-mail.

Thanks for stopping by

Jules training day

Well I've just got back from Jules training day in Leeds and to say it was fabulous is an understatement.  The day kicked off at 10am with everyone arriving, getting their goody bags and being given time to do their swaps.  Now I must say the standard of the swaps was fantastic so thank you ladies : ).

Next it was time to furtle in our bags to see what goodies were in there and boy was it VFM.  We had a pack of chipboard letters, a kit to do a scrapbook, brads, buttons and cello bags for our card projects to go in.  On top of that Jules let us loose on her ink, stamps and her ribbon.  It was the first time I had seen the seam binding ribbon and, I can't say I wasn't tempted to let slip into my bag her Pear Pizzaz, but I resisted temptation and thought " think of your sales and order it yourself"  So thats what I'm going to do.

Jules then did a little training session on the mini and the products in them.   She gave some good tips and advice on ways to promote the big shot and all the other products in it.  Before lunch we got to make our scrapbook page.  Ok so who goes to a scrapbook class without any pictures?  Yes you've guessed it, moi, so I'm going to have to show you the page at a later date when its finished.

Following this session we then had the most scrumptious lunch and a cupcake for dessert ( I brought mine home for DD)  After lunch Jules spoke about scrapbook classes and cost etc so that those wanting to branch into this area had some insight into how to go about it.  I found this really useful information as I've recently started scrapbook classes.

We then went on to make our final project.  This comprised of making 5 completely different cards and on every card we had something that had involved using the big shot.   These cards were then put in the cello bags and secured together using a topper (sorry Jules I can't remember what you called this project)  I loved this project and will show you the finished project another day but for now here are 3 of the cards made today:

On top of this I met some new friends, learnt new techniques, had a great laugh and helped Victoria get over her fear, to some extent, of motorway driving.  So I'd like to thank Victoria for driving us there without giving me too many grey hairs, Julie for her company on the journey as well and to Jules for the training.  I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Thanks for looking and please leave a comment

Mothers day card

Happy mothers day to everyone, hope you are all being spoilt rotten :)  I know I have been with the cards and gifts I've received from my lovely hubby and daughters.

Well I got up today and remembered that I hadn't done my mums card, I know what a plonker.  Luckily I had an idea in my head but couldn't use the SU embossing folder I really wanted to as its still in transit and won't be here until Tuesday so pretty difficult don't you think?  So I settled for the next best thing and used one from my own stash.  I ran it through the big shot and hey presto a lovely embossed piece of Whisper White card.

Now, when we were at Leeds training the other week, we were given the opportunity to "play" with the big shot and some of the new dies from the mini catalogue.   I fortunately chose the butterfly embosslits die on pg 9 to practice with so had them already cut out ( this is another item in transit, can't you tell I'm very organised...lol) so decided to use them on the card as well.  The colour combo is Whisper White and Pretty in Pink along with the Rhinestone Jewels.  The sentiment is from Occasional Greetings and is stamped in Melon Mambo.

I just love the way this picture shows the depth of detail on the butterflies, the sign of a good quality die.

I'm off to enjoy the rest of my day and a glass of wine.  Thanks for visiting and take care.  I'd love it if you left a comment, good or bad :)

Double tri-shutter card

It was my good friend, and upliner, Victoria's birthday on Thursday and she turned 40 so I wanted to do a special card for her so decided to do a double tri shutter card AKA Tri shutter album.  I got the instructions from Scrapthat's blog and they are so easy to follow.  I didn't take it round until yesterday as she had a "family" day on Thursday, and with the launch of the mini taking precedence yesterday, haven't posted it until now.  The card is very very long to say the least and so I tried to take a picture using my panoramic setting on the camera.   Now I have used this setting before and got excellent results but did that happen this time.... oh no and I didn't realise until I looked at it last night so it was too late to take another.  Never mind you'll get the gist of how it should look ...lol

For this card I have used Perfect Plum 12x12, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso card stock, Woodland Walk DSP, Just Believe, Vintage Vogue, Occasional Greetings, Silhouette Sentiments (hostess set), Curvey Verses and Greenhouse Garden stamp sets, round scallop and boarder punches, very vanilla ribbon, crimper, paper from the subtle paper stack, white gel pen, Stampin write markers and basic pearls jewels.

As you can see a lot of products were used to make this card all of which are SU.  If you would like to purchase any please contact me.  You can browse both the mini and main catalogue by clicking on the pictures on the right hand side of my blog.

Thank you for stopping by and please leave a comment as its nice to know who's popped in for a peek.

Mini Launch

Well ladies its the time you've all been waiting for ..... the launch of the mini and guess what, its got the Big Shot in it, how cool is that?  Now we've been asking SU for this fantastic piece of equipment and finally they have listened and not only that but there are 17 dies in the catty that are exclusive to SU, thats right, you can't buy them any where else.  If you want to have a peek at the new catty just click on the image on the right hand side and it will take you directly to the online version.

Demo's were able to pre-order some of the products and here are a couple of cards that I have made using my pre-order items, I hope you like them.

This one is made using the Itty Bitty set with the coordinating punches.  I think its quite cute.

This one I actually made for my hubby's birthday and have used crystal effects on the green sections of the motorbike to create a raised effect.

I hope you've enjoyed looking at the mini and my cards.  If you would like to order anything please do not hesitate to contact me.

Take care
