Sorry I've not  blogged for a few days but I ended up at A&E last week as my pain was so severe.  Its a little better now as the pain clinic have started me on yet more tablets, I'll be rattling soon lol.  So, I thought I'd pop along whilst I can to show you something very special to me.

None of my daughters are crafters like me so, when they need anything doing its always "Mum can you do this or that"  I bet you all know that feeling don't you...lol  However this time things were different,  Nicola has finally booked little mans christening. In anticipation of the event I ordered the stamp set My Special Day which arrived on Monday 6 February, much to Nicolas delight.  Over the last few weeks we had discussed different layouts for the invitation and RSVP such as a wallet type card, a fan like card etc.   Nicola finally decided on the fan type card.

We decided that the big shot Top Note die was perfect for the job so I managed to do a few samples so that she could show her partner and make it a joint decision.  All the samples involved heat embossing which Nicola has never done and was horrified at the prospect of doing them herself...lol

Anyway, Nicola took the big shot home and some Whisper White card so that she could get started on the cards and wording.   Luckily I had a template where I had cut 2 Top Note dies from a A5 piece of card so she used that to get her spacing right.  Then last Wednesday she came up and, because I was still in so much pain, had to face doing the heat embossing herself !!!!!  This is how the cards came out.....

I'm sure you will agree she did an excellent job with the embossing, I am sooooo proud of her to have completed them all by herself as she had 20 to do.  She did admit that if I had been well enough then she would have asked me to do them so, in a way, I'm glad I couldn't as its shown her just what she can do.  Its also nice that she can say to Leo when he's old enough that mummy did them all by herself as she made an extra one for his keepsake box :)  All the products used are from SU c/o mum...lol except the wording as that was done on her pc.

Well thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.  I'd love it if you left a comment.  If you wish to purchase any SU items please get in touch by one of the methods at the top of the page.

Yesterday was my sisters birthday and today its my gorgeous daughter, Kirsty, 20th.  So you can imagine its been a busy time making all the cards.  Luckily I managed to get them done in time and gave them to her yesterday ready to open today.  I'm not sure if I will see her today due to the snow, our road is a cul-d-sac and doesn't thaw out that quick so is quite a nightmare to drive on, but I have spoke to her and sung "happy birhtday" to her over the phone.   Not sure if the singing was a good idea or not....lol

Anyway, here are the cards I made for her:

This one was for my mum to give her.  I have used the Create a Cupcake stamp set and matching punch.  as you can see I have also been using my big shot and embossing folders again along with the For my Family set to create the sentiment.  The colour combo is Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Calypso Coral.

This is the card from me and her dad.  I have used several different products on this card, Under the big top stamp set, big shot and emobssing folders, pennant punch, Happiest Birthday wishes Hostess stamp set and Just Perfect Alphabet for her name.  I even coloured in the image again using the stamp pad and blender pens.  The colour combo is Calypso Coral, Elegant Eggplant and Lucky Limeade.

You may have guessed by now that I am having a spree of using the 2012 In Colours, I just love them all they are so bright and cheerful.   My eldest daughter choose a card from my stock which was one that I made at a Jules recent training event but I forgot to take a picture.  I will however be doing a similar card in my class at the end of the month so keep looking :)

My SU order has just arrived so off I am to play.  Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment as I love to read them.

Sunday 5 February 2012

Last night we had our gorgeous grandson, Leo, over to stay and he is such a comic.   At 61/2 months old you can image how inquisitive and fidgety he is.  Well he's had us in stiches over the weekend by pulling such a funny face, not quite sure where he's got it from.  He is almost sitting up on his own with just the odd wobble or two here and there and he really enjoys tummy time with all his toys.
I finally managed to capture him with one of his funny faces on:

and here he is with some of his toys, isn't he adorable or am I just biased...lol
Well today its my sisters birthday and what a present she got, the lovely snow...  Now if you're like me you will enjoy looking at it but not going out in it.  Lukily, in some ways, I don't have to do that as I'm still off work but still don't like to see the white stuff on the ground.  I managed to make the cards for mum and me and took them down last night.  The girls chose two that I had already made so that took a little bit of pressure off me.

For my mums card I used Paisley Petals to create a elegant card.  I stamped the image onto very vanilla card and then, using blender pens, I copied the colours from the DSP that goes with this stamp set.  The larger flower head had been cut out and mounted using dimesional.  I was inspired to create the corners from a publication demos receive from SU and it's using one of the punches.  If you would like to know more then come to one of my classes to find out how to do it :)  I have also used punches to create the bottom boarder.  The sentiments are from the hostess set Happiest Birthday wishes and the For my Family sentiment set from the main catty.

The next card is from me.  I've used the Creative elements set and created the background by resist embossing.  The sentiment is again from the For my Family set and the frame has been embossed using the big shot and cut out by hand.  The colour combination for this card is Soft Suede, Crumb cake and Calypso Coral

Tomorrows its my youngest's birthday so I'll be back to show you some of the cards I made her.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my creations.
