Hey lovely crafters,

Did you have a nice relaxing Bank  Holiday?  I did having entertained guests until 1.40am on Sunday morning ....lol.  Best of it all I didn't get up with a hangover either !!!!

Anyway my next class at the end of Septembers is a scrapbook class so I thought I would get ahead of myself, for a change, by preparing the layout early, especially as I'm away for a while in September.  So as a little teaser here are little sections of the layout to tempt you into booking a place for the session.

Now here are the tempting pics .......

They are meant to be totally different pages as they are for the back and the front of your scrapbooks.

The venue is Bestwood Village Social club and the class is on the last Saturday of the month starting at 9.30 and finishing at 12.30.  Light refreshments are included in the price.  If you would like to reserve a place just get in touch. A non refundable deposit  of £5 is required at the time of booking either by pay-pal, and mark it as a gift, or bank transfer.  If you would like any further information send me a message or e-mail and I'll reply as soon as I can.

I hope you've liked what you've seen.  If you would like to see the finished pages then book your place and join like minded people in a friendly environment.  All levels of crafter welcome and I am at hand to give assistance where its needed.

See you soon

Today is my 25th wedding anniversary and the weather is so different to what it was 25 years ago.  It was raining on and off all day and I wasn't able to have the train on my dress drag behind me as it was too wet but once I got in church I was able to put it down.   It brightened up just enough so that we could have some photo's taken outside.  Still, to me it was a wonderful day and I got to marry my soul mate and closest friend :)

Anyway, enough about me, you want to know what I've got to show you today, don't you?  You may have guessed that it my be my anniversary card to hubby, well you'd be right.  However, I only made it today as he was cleaning the windows...haha, how romantic is that?  He was a good boy and didn't peek when he came in and out of the conservatory so it was a surprise to him.

I've also used none other than the Confetti  White for the base card and teamed it up with  Whisper White and Basic Black.  I wanted some "silver" on the card and what better card to use than Brushed Silver from the main catalogue.  Now what could I put on the front that would keep the card both masculine  and show how I felt for Dean?  Of course it was easy, love hearts.  So I punched lots of hearts out in all the colours using the Heart to Heart punch and 4 large hearts using the Full Heart punch.  I embossed some Brushed Silver card using the Stripes Embossing Folder and some Whisper White with the Manhattan Flower.  I punched out one large love heart from the Manhattan Flower embossed card to give the look of embroidery on the heart. Here is the finished card:

I was very pleased with the finished result and it looks much better in "real life" if you know what I mean?  Inside I didn't put a veyrse but wrote something to Dean from me.  So all in all it was a very private card.

I have had a lovely day relaxing around the house and basically chilling out.  I can't say that's going to happen tomorrow as we have the gas men here fitting a new boiler, so that should be fun ..... not.

Remember if you want to order anything just get in touch and I'll be happy to oblige.  Also the new autumn/winter catalogue comes out on the 1st of September so that only leaves 9 days to order from the spring/summer mini.  If you want anything don't delay and be disappointed order today !!!

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a message.

Hi,

Just thought I'd pop on to let you know I'm still here...lol.  I'm on holiday this week but we haven't gone away as it was soooo expensive just for a flight  so we decided to go in September instead  ohhhh I can't wait as its a delayed Silver Wedding anniversary holiday :)

Anyway, yesterday I had to make a silver wedding anniversary card for our dear friends and neighbours.  Their special day is tomorrow, the same as ours, but they have gone away for a few days so I needed to get it done asap.   I managed to do it but, like a numpty,  in the rush I forgot to take a picture of it.  When they get back I'll ask for it back to take a picture and then post it for you all to see.

On the card I have tried a new technique to me called Faux Patina, its such a lovely technique and I was so pleased with the end result that I might give it another go on hubbys card as I haven't made that yet either...lol.  So I'll be back soon to hopefully post a picture of the aforesaid card and the one I'm doing for hubby.

Til then take care

Everything Eleanor

The other month I planned my class around the Everything Eleanor stamp set but was pushed for time so I "cheated" and bought a class from the very talented Jenny Moor.   I made sure that my ladies knew that the credit for the design was all down to Jenny and that they couldn't sell them to anyone.

Well time came to prep for my class.  The colours that Jenny has used was Calypso Coral, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.  Imagine to my horror that, when I came to prep for class, I didn't have enough of the right card to make all the packs up.  I don't know if you're like me but when I've seen a design in one colour I can't imagine it in another colour.

Anyway, I finally managed to work out a different colour combination that I was satisfied with and luckily my ladies were very understanding and didn't mind making the box set in a different colour.  The colour scheme I went with was Calypso Coral, Pacific Point and Very Vanilla

The first picture is the original design and the second one is my colour combination.  Now I can't make my mind up which I prefer...lol

Here are some photos of my ladies crafting away and having fun.

If you like to join us on the last Saturday of them month then just get in touch and I'll happily talk through the options with you.  Depending on the uptake I would consider an evening class, a Saturday afternoon class or a different Saturday in the month.  Come on what are you waiting for, we don't bite...lol

Hello everyone, aren't we having some fabulous weather at the moment?  I'm so glad it stayed nice for the Olympic games, didn't Team GB do well? and the closing ceremony was awesome. I hope the para Olympics have the same good weather.

So what am I going to show you today?  Well its a card I made for my niece's 18 birthday last month.  Just  before this I had attended one of Jules great training days where we did this card as one of the make and takes and I thought it was so unusual that it was perfect for my niece.  Here it is closed:

and this is it open:

.

You can see that it is a play on folds, similar to Origami, but it gives the wow factor to it as well.  The colour scheme I went for was all the new in colours for 2012/13.  I just love these colours don' t you?  They are so vibrant, its enough to make anyone who receives a card like this smile.   I have teamed the card with the  papers from the Sweet Shop collection... remember ladies you can only order from the Summer Mini Catalogue until the end of August and we don't know what, if anything, is going into the new Catalogue so don't delay in ordering.  The numbers and wording are die cut and the Balloons are from Party This Way.  I've used flowers from the Boho Punch to anchor the balloons down,

The Band that holds the card together is again Calypso Coral with papers from the Sweet Shop Collection.  Some of you clever people may have spotted that there are different colours on the Party this Way slogan.  To achieve this effect I used the In Colours markers and only coloured in certain areas of the stamp.  I think it gives a lovely effect.

To  make the flower I punched out about 5 shapes using the Fancy Flower punch.  I scrunched the shapes up to break down the fibres and then added a Rhinestone Brad through the centre to secure the flower.  To keep it all together I used Calypso Coral ribbon.

If you would like any of the products mentioned above please don't be shy, get in touch and I'll happily order the products for you.

Take care until next time

Oh dear I've done it again.... lost track of time and not posted for a while.  I don't know what happens to make me not post, must be something to do work, children, grandson and life in general... how dare these things interfere in my crafting..lol  Seriously though you should start so see quite a few posts coming this way in the next few weeks as I've got to start prepping for a craft fair I'm taking part in on the 30 September in Nuthall.  Luckily I've got lots of ideas from my upline, Victoria, so its just a case of knuckling down to do them.  The only trouble with that is I'm not too keen on repeating things so its going to be a challenge for me just to do that....wish me luck!!!!

Anyway, enough about me, here's a card I made for my gorgeous Grandson, Leo, for his first birthday last month.  I knew what I wanted to do so I thought it would be relatively easy but no, I decided to expand on the theme I had in mind.   The card I wanted to make was meant to be similar to one I made at one of Jules training events which was to create train carriages from punches and stamp the animals from Fox and Friends.  Here is the one from Jules training, isn't it just sweet....

How could I go bigger with this I hear you asking?   Well I decided to do a four fold card and make the inside the train carriages.   To do this I used the Top Note die with the Big Shot and cut out 3 shapes, I then cut them down the middle with one side just slightly more than half and embossed them with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  For the animals in the carriages I used stamps from Elebration, Fox and Friends and Easy Events.  The colour combination is from the Subtles collection and is Bashful Blue, So Saffron and Wild Wasabi.  I've also used coordinating paper from the Subtles paper stack and Whisper White.

So here is the finished card for our little man....

I was soooo pleased with the end result as its both colourful and fun to look at.  As you can see Leo has all his animal friends on board ready to go celebrate his birthday.  But wait a minute, where's Leo?

Here he is....I thought it would be fun if the front of the card had Leo "looking" through the leaves to find his friends :)  The verse went on the last page to finish the card off.

I think he liked the card but he was so spoilt on his birthday with lots of lovely new toys I think cards were the last thing on his mind !!!!

Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog.  I would like it if you left a comment for me to read if you don't mind?   To purchase any of the items used to make this card please get in touch and I'll happily order them for you or anything else from the catalogue.  Oh and don't forget, if you spend £60 or more you'll get the Reason to Smile stamp set absolutely FREE.

Til next time, take care.
